WINE NOTE

Moscato bianco is one of the oldest grapes in Piedmonte history for hundreds of years. But only in late 1800s, Moscato became very famous when so-called modern Moscato is invented in Asti. Moscato d'Asti is always made in the frizzante style (slightly sparkling) and low alcohol content, as it's first designed to be drunk at the noontime meals and not to slow down workers from afternoon work. Eventually, because of its sweetness and low level of alcohol, Moscato d'Asti is often enjoyed with dessert, and nowadays it is know best as a dessert wine.
